Final Fantasy VII - Last Order

Has anyone seen this new anime movie made by SquareEnix? It's awesome, and is intended to be a prequel to the video game. It only came out within the last year I think, but I really enjoyed it and it answered alot of questions about the game for me.

I've seen it I it was with the FF7 AC Advent Pieces: Limited

and technically most of it was seen in the game

being stored in pods at the Nibelheim Mako Plant.

I wonder how u can even come to that conclusion

i was really, really bored by Last Order. it didn't excite me at all. oh well...

LOL, my bad. I haven't played the game in a long time, and when Hojo said 'Take him to the basement' I guess for some reason I assumed that was the case. I guess Final Fantasy VII is one of those games you can't fully understand without playing it over 4-5 times...

I'm glad that I'm not the only one.
I literally had to play it 6 times before I understood everything but it's been so long that I have forgotten a lot.

Complex storyline it has.

4-5 times? 6 times? What will happen when you play games with more complicated storyline, like Chrono cross or Xenogears? It's no sarcasm btw

And I liked the anime kinda because it replayed a very good part of the game (in a kinda bad way though). I was sad that they didn't follow the exact storyline though

You can see the same story in the game on Disk 3. So nothing new about Last Order. But it's cool anyway.

It's the same as manga becoming anime,except in this case we have part of the game becoming an anime which main purpose is to milk more money from unsuspecting citizenz of ff7fanboysville.

i dont see how Last Order milked any more money from anyone, since it was included as a bonus to the FF7AC video. it's not like they packaged it and sold it as an additional thing.

Exactly.
It was an add-on which gives you "extra motivation" to buy FF7AC.
Let the milkage of t3h money begin.

Nothing wrong with being interested in FFVII. Though some take it too far (fanboys/girls) I personally liked the short movie. Though I'm beginning to suspect that some things don't fit together the way they should. Like continuity errors in a film but over multiple films. They should make a book called "The Chronicles of FFVII"

it's just a DVD special feature. so do you believe that every DVD company is trying to milk money out of us by making 2 disc sets?

IF Last Order was released seperately for sale, then yes, it would be out there just to suck money from people, because you'd have to pay for it. but due to the fact that you get it for FREE when you're buying Advent Children (and you have no choice whether or not to get it), it's not a cash cow.

here's how i look at it:

i think FF7:AC is a good movie. i decide that i want to own the DVD. i drive down to Fry's, whip out my credit card, and pay the 20 bucks that it costs to buy the DVD. when i get home, i discover that there is a bonus disc of extra crap. hey, i only wanted the movie! but look at all this stuff i got for free! including a really crappy anime, aka Last Order.

or here's another way:

people are going to buy AC whether or not LO comes with it. no one is going out to buy Last Order and discovering that Advent Children comes with it.

any way that you look at it, it's impossible to call Last Order a cash cow. that's like calling the deleted scenes or blooper reels or trailers on any DVD a cash cow just because they are on the DVD. you are completely missing the point.
