General Sound/Plugin problem

Ok, basically, a month or two ago, I had downloaed epsxe and was able to run it using all my ISO's perfectly. I then deleted it due to needing space on my harddrive, and I downloaded it again yesterday. Now, if I try to run anything using the ePSXe SPU core, I get an error of

*Error can't open sound handler. (try -nosound)

So then I went and got the SPU Eternal sound plugin, and when I try to run anything using that, the emulator just freezes and gives me the error report message.

Can anybody please help me?

try deleting all the registry entries. they are under "psemu pro"
