VBA 1.8.0 Beta save files with VBA Link 1.7.3

Is it possible to use VBA 1.8.0 Beta savefiles in VBA Link 1.7.3? I tried to open but it poped up an error saying "Unsurpported VisualBoyAdvance save version 9". I know what it means but is there a way to convert the save file so that VBA Link 1.7.3 works with it?

try exporting the save as a battery file or a gameshark snapshot then import it into the other visualboy advanced
