noob needs help! Drive empty on SSF emulator?

I got everything working, saturn emulator starts up, goes to menu, i put my CD-R in, and it says its empty? What am I doing wrong? I tried opening and closing the cd, but nothing happens...

it happens when you select the correct drive in the configuration menu? (before play a game)

yep, im thinking its something with my config. because the cd drive reads it but its not communicating w/ the emu..
