FF9 cd3

In battles when enemies cast certain magics, (mostly the water spells and sometimes thundaga, it seems) the game stops. not freezes, but the caster just stands there waving and nothing happends.
Other charaters can even be given commands and the picture zooms out for the targeting, but then it goes right back to the "casting" creature.

Im suspecting that its a bad iso, but has anyone else had this problem and solved it? Cause for a couple of reasons i cant get a new iso for a while...
