Lagging when Recording

Whenever I try to record something using the ePSXe, the game lags horribly. After I stop and check the video afterwards it's perfectly fine. How do I stop this?

are you using the program FRAPS? since you have no idea what he's talking about, i'd guess not.

are you using the built in Peops recorder? i found that my system lagged a lot for this. you can change the codec it uses (dont use divx or any of that) so it will use less resources as you play.

I'm using ePSXe with the P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.17, I dunno but it lags like crazy. Is their a better plugin than this for recording?

Try FRAPS. It's shareware though, so unless you register ($37) you'll have to settle for 30-second videos with a corporate watermark. It's good stuff though. I recorded a short video whilst playing PE2 today and never noticed any slowdown.

like i said, it's slow. you can try raw AVI but that takes up an assload of drive space.

Raw is about the only way to do it without slowing down your PC. Attempting to do any encoding while recording shouldn't be tried (since encoding is 100% processor power).

FRAPs is the way to go. It's what I use. Only problem (that I have with it) is that it'll only record while using the OpenGL plugins.
