N64 Emulator for PSP! Daedalus!
Wow, I tried this out and it is simply amazing. At first it was just released being compatible for 1.5 users, but now an update has been released to let 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and (reportedly) 2.6 users to be able to run this! Right now you won't be able to run Roms larger than 8mb, and it is indeed slow (I got around 5-6 fps) But it's so cool to see Mario 64 on my PSP ![]() Here's what the author [know as] StrmnNrmn had to say: This release of Daedalus for the PSP is currently in the very early stages of development. It is intended to show the potential for a N64 emulator on the PSP, but the current release has many missing features that make it far from usable: ● There is no savegame support. ● There is no audio support. ● Not all the N64 controls can be used. ● Large ROMs (i.e. over 8MB) cannot be loaded. ● Many roms won't boot. ● Many roms have serious graphical glitches. ● Many roms have random lockups and crashes. ● Most roms run at a low framerate. Having said all that, I believe most of these problems can be overcome in the future. Sounds good to me. There are some screenshots attached, and also visit http://sourceforge.net/projects/daedalus-n64 to get the latest releases ![]() Now this is an open source project so any lingering N64 authors reading this may want to take a look at the source code, i'm sure StrmnNrmn and of course all of us PSP fanboys would appreciate it! ![]() edit: Okay sorry, didn't know Chrono posted this before me Anyways this is an update to the previous version.

Wow...I didn't think that N64 emulation would really be feasable on the PSP...well, great work on Daedalus, and keep it up. ![]() r2rX

Nice release, tested it on my friend's psp... OT: the funny thing is that the first thing people do when they get their new consoles is look for a way to play Nintendo games... |

Pretty impressive to see, makes me ponder though as to what FPS could be achieved in the future, I mean the PSP is a nifty machine, but does it have the raw power to pull this off, certainly something I will keep an eye on though.
