What emu are you using?
I recommend ePsxe 1.5.2 (ff9 works best on him),PCSX or pSX Emulator 1.2.

for that graphics card i would just suggest using OGL 1.76, it'd be a better match. make sure your drivers are updated (www.ati.com)

You can try using the PCSX or "pSX Emulator 1.2".

Note: "pSX Emulator 1.2" don't use the plugins so it is easier to configure...

Get Alcohol 120%, and use it to make an ISO with the PSX pre-set, that's what always works for me.

Insert the disc into your drive.
Open Alcohol.
Click on "Image Making Wizard".
You should see a list of presets... choose the playstation one.
That is about it... just make the image!
