way too much slowdown in FF7

i am having a variety of problems with running FF7

problems like , too much slow down, battle swirl not working, entering a battle causes the game to slow down (taking like 30 seconds to get into a battle)

i was wondering if you guys could tell me the best configuration to solve these problems

heres my set up

Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.76
Author: Pete Bernert
Card vendor: Intel
GFX card: Intel Brookdale-G

Resolution/Color:
- 800x600 Window mode
[16 Bit]- Keep psx aspect ratio: off

Textures:
- R4G4B4A4
- Filtering: 0
- Hi-Res textures: 0
- VRam size: 0 MBytes

Framerate:
- FPS limitation: on
- Frame skipping: on
- FPS limit: Auto

Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 2
- Framebuffer texture: 1
- Framebuffer access: 4
- Alpha multipass: on
- Mask bit: off
- Advanced blending: off

Misc:
- Scanlines: off
- Line mode: off
- Unfiltered FB: on
- 15 bit FB: off
- Dithering: off

I think it might be your video card. Try enabling the FF7 game fix and lowering/disabling frame buffer access. I couldn't get battle swirl to work with OGL1, but OGL2 works fine, although it needs pixel shader or something (at least GeForce4MX4400 works).

yeahhhhh your graphics card sucks. you'll probably never get the battle swirl to work properly on that card with a HW plugin, im afraid.

try using Peops Soft GPU.

its ok im just glad to know that its my graphics card. i thought that i kept screwing up the configuration.

hushypushy, i decided to try the Peops Soft GPU but i can seem to get the epsxe to recogize that its there. i put it in the plug-ins folder like im supposed to but when i go to the menu in config, then video, the pull down menu doesnt have Peops Soft GPU there and i dont know how to get it there, any help on that?

USE AN ISO.
Thatt should help speed upp your battle intros, as the cd will not have to spin up each time.

did you unzip it? are you sure you have the gpuPeopsSoft.dll file in your \plugins folder?
