I think a car might might have enough watts... and car's power fluctuates a lot too, might damage the computer.

Aren't some molex connectors 12V anyway? But WindHydra is right it might damage your computer. An alternative though is getting 2 batteries and a stepup transformer similar to a setup of a caravan

Nah, properly configured, it would be fine. You will need: (1) A voltage regulator @ 12v (2) Another voltage regulator @ 5v tied to the 12v regulator (or any other valid solution to provide 5v from the 12v line). (3) (possibly) a large capacitor to handle intermittent (and short) power drains

Or you could just buy one already built. Even though it's barebones, you probably already have everything needed if you're trying to do it now. Not sure when it's going to be release though. Sounds like a good deal for $299. http://www.via.com.tw/en/resources/p...ox_voom_pc.jsp You might also want to check the www.hardocp.com power supply forums. They might be able to help you there as to which power supply would work the best.

I think i want to get a 7.5 or larger lcd monitor, and if I win the lotter a touch screen monitor . my is in his 2nd year of college and he is going to be an electircal engineer, but he is just getting to copassitors. if any one has any suggestoins that would be great! and thanx againps - I'll be sure to post pics if and when i finish.
