its not illegal for your own private use. its only illegal when you share the models on the internet or make games with them and release it. the tool is called ffx2obj or ffb2obj, but i dunno how to find it. its very rare. i have the tool here somewhere on my Backup HDD but i don't use it. |

Alright, I tried these tools too and everything worked fine, except for one thing: I cant convert any bones. Now the question is, is that a software specific problem (I'm using Cinema4D to work on the FFX2OBJ-converted models) or is it a problem of the converter? With the model viewer from yaz0r I can clearly see all the bones, but somehow they don't get saved/converted... So, anyone knows of any solution, besides manually rigging the models? (...pain in the ass)Here's a little wallpaper I rendered today - these models look so much nicer with shadows and stuff. ![]() Last edited by bra1n; March 22nd, 2007 at 09:01.. |

Hey, for legal reasons, I don't support exporting the FFX models. While I'm thinking about releasing the format, it's too early to say. I suspect FFX2OBJ (that I don't have/never tried) to rely on the pre-computed geometry found in the files. Those aren't skinned (and the skinning system is tricky) and glitch on large model (Yunalesca), so that would defenitly be a FFX2OBJ program. That's said, it's a nice render. What software did you ure to produce it ? |

As I said, that picture was rendered with Cinema4D. And as far as I know, FFX2OBJ exports skinned models together with their textures. The only thing it's lacking is, unfortunately, the bones.

wow, how great cinema4d is! I rendered a model with 3ds max but it was even worse than yaz0r's viewer
