I updated vba-over with fixes for the classic nes games, so you don't have to patch them anymore.

Hi, I've tried a lot of things, but can't seem to get the link to work. I have 2 exact settings of VBA's and when I save before trading one of the games sais "Save error, please exchange backup memory'
Already tried:-change save type to 128k
-delete save games from before installing link ...

Anyone who had the same problem and was able to fix it?

ps: i'm talking about trading between the fire red and leaf green version of the game pokemon

if its fire red that is playing up, theres no way to fix this as it does something different to leaf green which prevents getting the rom data in the save states to stop overwriting...

However you can copy your leaf green .sav file and rename it to fire red and continue that way.

Eh.... I have a problem with fire red. I just started. In the beginning, after the press start, there's the controls tab right? well after I press A, it goes to the help tab, and then it won't let me do anything else. I probably did something stupid, but could someone help me

WOW! VBA & Fire Red really got me angry. Seems like there all deleted? Eh.
I don't know WHAT it is, tried patches, that vba-over.ini thing, 128k, 64k, Automatic. And NONE of them worked.

so

i just played through fire red over the past few days

i knew i couldn't save in-game, didnt think it'd be an issue, though

until, just like everyone else, i beat E4 and realized i couldn't load anything....

i've been trying to figure this out, using vba-over, patching the roms, everything i've found.... no go

has anyone gotten fire red working???

Fire red works fine, if you had have applied the vba-over prior to starting the game.

theres only a fix that works on pokemon leaf green.
