Fair dinkum? That's awesome. I remember as a scamp I loved yo-yo's, however nothing peaked my interest outside of the schoolyard to increase my skill. Should I have had the knowledge that there were competitions, my interest may still be peaked.

I can solve a rubiks cube in under 1min 30sec EVERY time

Yo, I got one of those coke yo-yo's from the 50's and I remember some smart arse kid trying to get me to swap it for a el-cheapo $2. I still got that yo-yo too. Works like a dream.
