delayed write failure
N OOOo O O! Got delayed write failure of $mft and lost a backup drive. Good thing it's only backup and I still got everything on the main drive ![]() Want to know if anyone else got the problem. I turned off write cache now and hope it will never happen again. Does write cache helps a lot? |

I usually get those kind of problems when I would transfer someing through the network and then the network connection fails all of a sudden (ie. if the other computer shut down or the network cable got unplugged). I think I'd leave write cache enable tho...it sounds like it can be a useful feature

Disabling write cache seems to improve responsiveness after exiting a big program Of course, this might be an illusion since no benchmark is done.
