hl2 fps display?
well my hl2 has been REALLY acting up rescently. dunno what it is but its been stuttering alot. is their a way for me to turn on a fps display while playing hl2 so i can see what its doing. (although i think its a Ram issue...)

There is a command for the console, but I can't remember what it is. I usually just use fraps.

You know: if you'd searched about this you'd have already found your answer. Yes. Run HL2 with the -console option. I think there is also an option somewhere in the key config (under advanced) I can't check as I uninstall that POS ages ago

now, cl_showfps 1 and cl_showfps 2 (the difference is that one is the smooth fps and the other is not) don't show up everytime, if you want them, you'll need to put them in your autoexec.cfg file. however i dont recommend those since the readout is REALLY small. i suggest messing with net_graph (use 1, 2, 3, depending on what you like) and net_graphpos (1 = right 2 = middle 3 = left). that displays the FPS bigger along with useful info like choke and loss, plus it's bigger. furthermore, you don't need to add it to your autoexec file; it stays forever.
