automatic harddrive shutdowns
Hmm, I was wondering if this harddrive shutdown thing (in the windows power-management options) infects my *cough* nightly downloads.

No. The hard drive will only shut down with a certain amount of hard drive inactivity (not user inactivity). If something reads from or writes to the hard drive regularly it will not shut down. Even if it does shut down it'll automatically turn back on when data needs to be read off it or written to it so you shouldn't need to worry at all.

well then i guess if you're DLing all night then there is some possibility of hard drive's activity every few moments....so wouldnt your drive never shut down?
