Its my own custom build which I update/maintain myself since the last build that was released to the public of MAME with 3D acceleration was 0.83u1 and the Zinc team were strongly opposed to it being released publicly since it uses closed source Zinc plugins so the author gave up on it. I want to respect the MAME license and the board rules.

Dark Watcher, I got the "smooth" pics for you

Upped the window resolution to 1000x700 @ 8xFSAA / 8xAF

Now for sure it looks better than the arcade version

Is it as hard to configure as that other Mame/w zinc plugins? How fast does it run with mame and the zinc plugins?

I have added code to the GUI (MAME32 based) to allow choosing of the plugin options for Zincs 1.2 D3D/OGL renderers. For OpenGL2 I use ePSXe to make any configurations to the plugin since the settings are not restricted to 1 emulator for Petes Plugins.

I still haven't been able to get proper fullscreen rendering support but it works perfectly in Window mode

The FPS counter in FRAPS and the plugins stays around 50~60FPS for me with the normal OpenGL plugin with texture filtering and blending etc and a bit lower with the OpenGL2 plugin and shaders in "TEKKEN 3" but even at 60FPS the game is NOT fullspeed so I believe its a emulation issue, the game seems to move more at a pace of 30~35FPS and the sound emulation is iffy ATM for System 12.

For the ones requesting, please, no more requests for oGLMAME.

I do not want to jeopardise any future Zinc release which will be 1000x better than oGLMAME. I just wanted to share with everyone what the games look like in high-res with filtering and screenshots won't cause any harm.

It is said that the arcade version is better than the emulated version of Tekken3 on psx.To me they look almost the same, except from the backgrounds that are a bit better in the arcade version, but nothing really breathtaking.Just check these two screenies, they are from epsxe.

I think it was said the an emulator hardware accellerated Arcade version of Tekken 3 would look better than Tekken3 running on Epsxe. Which I agree with. The arcade version has higher polygon counts for all the characters and the backgrounds aren't as 2d as the psx version.

You need to know some programming to actually write the plugins into the mame source, then compile the program.

The lighting, floor textures, character animation and character detail are all better in the Arcade version, not to mention the polygon heavy 3D backgrounds that the Arcade version has :guitar:

just look at character fingers in arcade and in console version

Ps. am I wrong or in the demo version on PSX characters have the same polycount as in arcade (whole game?) bacground still is 2d (PSX)
That could be the reason why john2 has written that he doesn't see couple of differences in those 2 versions of tekken 3
