Lunar: SSSC problems
I got my nifty special edition of Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete today in the mail. Of course, I immediately set out to rip the discs to my computer for play in ePSXe. Upon booting it up, however, the FMVs are all off center to the right, leaving a big black space on the left third of my screen. I'm running ePSXe 1.5.2 using Pete's OpenGL plugin and the Eternal SPU. I have the Lunar thingy checked in the special fixes submenu, but that doesn't seem to help it at all. Any help with fixing this would be much appreciated! Edit: Upon trying it out on a PS2, it seems there's more problems that I first thought. When you start a new game, Alex goes in to a monologue about his hero Dyne and stuff. The thing is, I've never heard this monologue before since ePSXe seems to skip it for some reason. Does anyone have a config I can just copy and use so that Lunar works the way it's supposed to? Last edited by Coxswain; August 20th, 2004 at 20:59.. |

What are your computer's specs and what are your settings in Pete's OpenGL plugin? Are you using the internal ISO function?

P4 2.6C 1024MB RAM Radeon 9600 Pro with latest drivers Sound Blaster Live! Value Those are my basic specs, with my plugin configurations as follows. ![]() ![]() ![]() It's not that big of a deal anymore since I found a PSX memory card for use with my friend's PS2 I had lying around, but it would be nice to know how I can fix this for if I'd like to play it again and I don't have the benefit of a Playstation console to use it with. And, yes, I was playing the game from ISO. |

Your computer can run Pete's OpenGL2 plugin which might work better with the game. Here's some settings to try out. GFX card: RADEON 9500 Pro x86/MMX/3DNow!/SSE Resolution/Color: - 640x480 Window mode - Internal X resolution: 1 (Do not set this to 2 with ATi cards) - Internal Y resolution: 2 - Keep psx aspect ratio: off - No render-to-texture: off - Filtering: 0 - Hi-Res textures: 0 - TexWin pixel shader: on - VRam size: 128 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: on - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: Auto Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 1 - Framebuffer effects: 3 - Framebuffer uploads: 1 Misc: - Scanlines: off - Mdec filter: on - Screen filtering: off - Shader effects: 0/1 - Flicker-fix border size: 0 - GF4/XP crash fix: off - Game fixes: on [00000004]

err the fmv's are that way :P I've finished both lunars and i think both were weird-formatted fmv's.. i think it's somethin to do with conversion from the segacd or whatever. Anyway i had it too :P (just in the lunar games..) Also i had quite a lot of problems with the speech bits.. They seem to cut off prematurely in epsxe (on both lunars) in some parts of the game. Can't seem to fix that either.. (same cutoff with savestates etc) |

I'm pretty sure the FMVs aren't supposed to be off center and have garbled colors on the sides, seeing as how it's not like that when I play it on a PS2. Anyways, I tried out the OpenGL plugin with the settings that were lined out, but neither problem went away, unfortunately. |
