there are other pad plugins using the psemu system, but epsxe decided to stick with their own controller setup. its pretty integrated into the emulator so i dont really see how to use another one..

I want to use my wheel in gt2, but the game thinks it is an analog dual-shock controller. Apparently gt2 doesn't let you adjust the deadzone and sensitivity of dual-shocks, it only allows the adjustment of other analog controls such as joysticks and wheels. I thought maybe a different pad plugin (such as the Smartazz joystick plugin) would make gt2 think my wheel was a wheel or joystick instead of a dual-shock. The huge default deadzone in gt2 ruins it for me. In windows, my wheel is set as tight as possible, so it's definitely the game.
