Need help with VirtualPC!

I just installed virtualPC and i can't seem to get the network to work like it should! I want to make a network connection between the virtualPC and the host system! I think i configurered everything right and the VirtualPC is using the internet connection so i guess at least something is right but i can't see to see the computeres in the Network Places! Only computer that shows in the VirtualPC is the VirtualPC and on the host machine only shows the host machine? Why cant they find eachother? Anyone knows how to configure this?

I'm using Microsoft VirtualPC 2004 btw

I'm not too familar with VirtualPC, but I don't think it can be done. If you just need to access files on the host machine, I think there is a option to set a folder on the host machine as a drive on the virtual machine.

I know pretty sure that VMWare can do that

both computers (the real and the virtual one) have similar network settings?
e.g. if your real pc has 10.0.0.151 on a workgroup called COOKIES,
then the virtual one should have something like 10.0.0.152 and the same workgroup;
not to mention gateway , dns, etc (should be the same as on the real pc as well).
in short: set it up like you would every other pc on a home network.
