Routers/p2p
I have been using Microsoft routers for awhile now. They work nice and easy except for the simple fact the firewall cannot be disabled. MN-700 model for example. Kazaa runs at the slowest speeds because when connected to the router it has a hard time picking up sources and speed. I narrowed it down to the firewall and i am 100% sure its the firewall. I have tried everything from dmz's to foward ports etc.. When i plug the cable modem directly into this pc i blaze speeds of 400kb+. I am going to buy another wireless router today, any suggestions? I need one that you can disable the firewall totally and best would be if somebody uses one and runs well on kazaa or other p2p.

Then how come when I VPN into my home network and login to my MN-500 to check the security settings, I see this option? Ever heard of a thing called port-forwarding? That would be my first guess on what your problem is.

call me stupid, bridge mode? I thought about just making an access point but i dont think i can share my broadband connection then. Access points do not enable the firewall
