Quietest, but best cooling Socket478 Heatsink/Fan

I'm getting pretty irritated that my computer sounds like it's getting ready for a mission to Mars, so I was wondering which Socket478 Cooler is the best at cooling and also quiet. I'm talking mouse-fart-like quiet.(If possible)

I have about $20-30 to spend. Any ideas/links?

Well I just bought a Zalman CNPS 7000A-Cu, it's practically noiseless.

edit: Ah crap, you ask for P4 heatsink, then my zalman can be put on a P4 too

Right now my FSB is @ 179 and my CPU @ 1.97 Ghz (crappy ram get in the way of further oc)

My temps before with stock hsf was:

55 idle 63 full

Now:

40 idle 47 full

That's cool enough for me, considering the temp here in Indonesia, so if your living in a cooler area, the temps might be lower than that.

I heard that Zalman Copper HSF was huge, like an entire CD surface area huge. X_X

If I get one I hope it doesn't interfere with my tall HS on my northbridge.

lol I just posted what the thing looks like for SzL. Anyway I think im gonna go for the vantec aeroflow. The only thing is that thing is harder than hell to install. It took me and my friend both pushing on it to clip down onto the socket. Im suprised we didnt crush the processor, but its not much louder, and the comp never has gone above 35 C

You better get the aeroflow2, the first one uses TMD fan, many people (including a friend of mine) complain that the fan will failed after some time.

Or you can use this hs from thermalright:

http://www.thermalright.com/a_page/m...uct_alx800.htm

It's about $20, nice performance too.

It's my first choice at first but they don't sell thermalright here, so I opt for zalman.

Damn that looks like it will interfere with my rather tall HS on my northbrige...Unless I change the HS on the NB, anyone know where I could get a short HS or a very low HSF for a NB?

It won't fit. I need like a perfect square HS/F, small in size. I have an Iceberq, and it would bump into the Socket478 clip holder. So I put it on my GF3.

I have that heatsink, it's very good . My temperatures used to go as high as 52 C (running Prime95's torture test with a higher than normal ambient temperature), the highest I've seen it reach with that heatsink is 41 C (maybe 42). I put a high airflow fan on it so it is pretty loud .

SzL: That heatsink (the ALX-800) shouldn't have any problems with your northbridge heatsink. The flat side of the heatsink will be facing the northbridge, unless you have some weird motherboard with the clips going left to right.

Wait, didn't you start another thread about you wanting an AMD system?
So whats the point in getting an HSF for a system you plan on selling?
