how to get a radeon 9600 to work with rice video plugin 5.05b2?

hello everyone, i was always used to think that pj64 was the best emu possible..but..looking at many screenshots concerning 1964 running w/ rice'plugins, one day i was so curios and i did downloaded both the emu and the plugin..
the fact is this..

after 2 months of almost total madness..

i still can't adjust rice plugin to let me see the major improvements he has done..all the games i have look horrible, they are full of jerky textures and so on..
Yes, ive been to emutalk forums in order to read something that could help me, but i couldnt find anything..
i tried both the opengl and directx way but..nothing happened..the games still went very bad..

so..please...i need a complete guide on how to configure rice plugin given that i've got a radeon 9600.

it would be better for me if anyone who has my own video card, attaches images of his rice plugin settings, in order to show me exactly how to configure it..

any help appreciated.

i thank u all

A Radeon 9600 user to another

First, make sure you updated your Catalyst drivers...the current version is 4.3
Second, use the DirectX rendering option...I didn't have too much luck with the OpenGL render
Third, there should be 2 option for something "software related" (if you have the tooltips on, it should be easy to find. You will need to enable both those option, or else the polygons will go all over the screen

Try Rice's Daelous 5.2.0. That plugin is a whole lot better than Rice's video
Plugin.Otherwise you might want to use a D3D video plugin or update your video card.
