What games require Subchannels to work?

I extracted all my games with the subchannel data enabled, but it would be nice to get rid on this file if it's not needed. 12-15 mb a game?

Which games require you to have the SUB file and it enabled in CDR plugin?

I believe someone said USA release of Vagrant Story, for one.

Any others?

David

P.S. Assume NTSC versions for all games only.

hello,
sorry i can't help you with this problem but i'd like to ask a similar question. eh... what is subchannel anyways? i mean i used to think of them as those tracks that can be played on cdplayers directly, but that's obviously not it. so.. someone help me.
o and, i think Front Mission 2 needs to have it enabled. though it's PAL... (runs away)

i dont know of any NTSC games that do, IIRC, but i know that FF9 PAL needs it, and possible Crash Team Racing PAL as well.

most of the time, you wont need it.

Basically any game with "anti-modchip" copyprotection needs the subchanell data to run (or a ppf patch). This is becuase the game reads this data to verify that the cd is legit.

Most US titles do not contain any copy protection but here's an incomplete list of those that do:

Breath Of Fire 4*
Cool Boarders 2001
Crash Bash*
Dino Crisis
Emperor's New Groove
Grind Session
Legend of Dragoon
MediEvil 2
Mo-Ho Lost World
NBA Shootout 2001 US/NTSC
NCAA Gamebreaker 2001
NCCA Final 4 2001 NFL Gameday 2001
NHL Faceoff 2001
Resident Evil 3*
Resident Evil: Nemesis
Resident Evil: Survivor
Spyro 3 - Year Of The Dragon
Strider 2
The Grinch
Tomba 2
Toy Story 2*
Vandal Hearts 2
Wild Arms 2

* It would appear that there are certain versions available that are not protected.

The US NTSC Vagrant Story doesn't have copy protection. To check other titles try here: http://www.geocities.com/psxcplist/

stilz: Subchannel is the control data for a CD, there are actually 8 different subchannels on a CD labelled P to W basically they make the disc work properly. If you're really interested have a read of this: http://www.cdrfaq.org/faq02.html#S2-43-5

Anyone got "Alien Resurrection" working on ePSXe? I've tried many times, but it crashes when I start a new game or go to "credits"-screen. Does this game need subchannels to work?

No, AR doesn't require Subchannel data enabled. I am playing it just fine. What are your settings?

Yeah I disabled subchannel and Alien Resurrection is working just fine. Unless there's a different version of the game, I don't think your problem is related to that.
My screenshot thread has my gpu settings: http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51513
