Networking Question
I have 2 PCs, a PS2 with the network adapter and a cable line. Since I'm a little cheap I was wondering what is the best choice to get at least ps2 and my computer both connected at the same time. My first choice is to buy a router. I don't really want to do this because i am short on cash and most routers i see are like 45 bucks plus i need cat 5. My second choice is if I put another network card in my computer and run cat 5 to my ps2 in my basement. Promblem is that i'm not sure if it's going to work and if it might slow down my comp. My third and final is to take my old p2 366 and put two network cards in and install dry wall and make a router out of it. Promblem is that it is a waste of a perfectly good comp with a hardrive and monitor.

A router is a simple soloution and it's always on, but your best bet is simply to get an extra net card and hook that up to your PS2

I think the router is by far the better option, particulary if you get one with a four port hub built in. Then all you have to do is plug your ps2 into the router and a utp cable from your nic in your pc to the router. Two mins maximum to setup your router and away you go!!
