There is no shortage of programs that want image dimensions to be powers of 2. Why not make the max avatar size 128*128 and the max sig image size 512*128? Why use 85 and 500 instead of nice round numbers like 128 and 512?

There is also no shortage of programs that don't care about the dimensions. Paintshop Pro, Adobe Photoshop, GIMP, MSPaint, Photodraw.....
Why make it some computerised number when you can keep it as a nice human number.

What's worng with powers of 2? After all, they ARE nice round numbers. I'm frequently working with powers of 2, and having a maximum that's just a little under the value is a bit of a pain. Will you please change it?

theyre erratic numbers, we certainly arent going to have 64x64 because its idiotically small, and 128x128 is idiotically big... this system has no point and is impractical...

It looks like YOUR avatar is 128*128. Besides, after 3 years of programming at uni, who can blame a guy for liking powers of 2?

His avatar is 86x100. Mine is 90x123. Admins' perks.
I don't blame you for liking powers of 2. Just don't expect hte rest of the world to like ti too. We aren't changing our avatar/sig limits, and won't be for a good long time.

Maybe it's just something to do with my personality, or me having Asperger's Syndrome. Anyway, may as well end the discussion on image sizes.
