Post GameStop Drops N-Gage from 450 Stores

Quote:
Retailer GameStop has announced that it will stop selling Nokia's N-Gage at 450 of its stores, representing almost a third of its retail outlets. Remaining inventory will be moved to the other stores.

However, Nokia shows not signs of giving up, and will likely introduce either a more aesthetically and ergonomically sound N-Gage, or a successor at this year's E3.

Nokia doesn't know when to give up do they?

As for this new N-Gage, I have to say that existing N-Gage owners must feel ripped off for buying the "old" model.

N-Gage sucks

I dont blame gamestop. The N-Gage is the most pathetic handheld I have ever seen. You have to pull the bottom of to insert a new game, and some of the games dont even have sound.

Why did Nokia even bother? They had zero chance from the start. I hate mobile phones, I hate crappy stripped down mobile phone games, I hate annoying ringtones and I hate N-Gage. It didn't even deserve to suceed and I'm happy that it is failing miserably. I tried controlling Lara on it's poorly designed buttons and layout. I immediately gave up. Even worse controls than the PS1 version! Playing 3D games without analog control is bloody stupid and not worth the effort getting semi-used to it.

I agree with you on every point except the 3D requires analog (Unless I'm misreading you) I love playing FF:Crystal Chronicals multiplayer and it only uses a digipad, but it works like a charm

(old, B&W) Nokia 5510, (new, Colored) Nokia 3300..
My main problems with them is the disk space: the 5510 i have came with 64mb Solid-State non-removable MMC. The 3300 i think has 32mb upgradable(pretty limited upgrade IIRC, the highest goes at 128mb)...

There is also a Phone upgrade for 3310, etc.. that lets you play Mp3s (also comes with 64mb)..

Ngage really tore at the hearts of many gamers who dished out the dough. I myself fell victim to the onslaught, but alas live and learn. I believe the system could of done 150% better with the proper adjustments. What do you expect from the neverending merging of technologies. lol well i believe in the future nokia might come out with a better product. Peace.
