I still have lockups with my old Cowoy bebop eps, with the DivX

Low\High Motion Codec . Seems to only lockup in MPC, BSPlayer or ZoomPlayer or even WiMP play them fine. maybe i should submit to his SF forum ..

mm not really, i usualy dislike codec packs.

Lets say ive just reinstalled windows, Which codecs\filters should i install ?

I Usualy Install DivX 3.11a, 4.12, 5.1 and XviD

FFDShow, AC3 Filter, OGGDS, Real Alternative and Quicktime alternative.
FFDShow isn't a codec pack. It's a directshow filter for playing MPEG encoded movies. Bear in mind DivX/XviD are MPEG-4 codecs.

FFDshow Alpha is a later version which has had less testing, but in reality, it's far more reliable than the old 'stable' release.

OGGDS is prolly in vorbis's site, and quicktime\real alternative arent a problem to find.
