FF Tactics - Emulator doesn't respond at all
I've been trying to set up ePSXe to play FF Tactics. I've now tried it on two different computers, hoping that at least one would work, but no such luck. Whether running from an ISO (produced in Linux with readcd), from Daemon Tools or from the original CD, the emulator window comes up dead, black and non-responsive. Computer 1 specs: - Pentium 3 laptop, 700 MHz - ATI Mobility 128 chipset, 8 MB, AGP 2x - 320 MB RAM, if that matters - XP Pro Computer 2 specs: - Athlon 1.2 GHz - ATI Rage 128 Pro, 32 MB, AGP 4x - 1 GB RAM - XP Pro GPU plugins I've tried: - Pete's Direct3D 1.75 - Pete's OpenGL 1.75 - P.E.Op.S. 1.15 Current settings (computer 2): Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.75 Author: Pete Bernert Card vendor: Microsoft Corporation GFX card: GDI Generic Resolution/Color: - 640x480 Window mode [32 Bit]- Keep psx aspect ratio: off Textures: - R8G8B8A8 - Filtering: 2 - Hi-Res textures: 0 - VRam size: 0 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: on - Frame skipping: on - FPS limit: 60 Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 3 - Framebuffer texture: 3 - Framebuffer access: 4 - Alpha multipass: on - Mask bit: on - Advanced blending: on Misc: - Scanlines: off - Line mode: off - Unfiltered FB: on - 15 bit FB: on - Dithering: off - Screen smoothing: off - Screen cushion: off - Game fixes: off [000100c0] Any ideas that might get it working? Thanks |

Re: FF Tactics - Emulator doesn't respond at all
hmm it says generic under your device. make sure the latest drivers are installed first of all. second, try just pressing "fast" as a preset and see what you get. you should try this in D3D DX6 first.

Re: FF Tactics - Emulator doesn't respond at all
I tried installing the latest ATI driver, but it didn't help. Here's what comes up if I click "fast": Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.75 Author: Pete Bernert Card vendor: ATI Technologies Inc. GFX card: RAGE 128 Pro x86/MMX/3DNow! Resolution/Color: - 640x480 Window mode [16 Bit]- Keep psx aspect ratio: off Textures: - Default - Filtering: 0 - Hi-Res textures: 0 - VRam size: 0 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: off - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: Auto Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 1 - Framebuffer texture: 1 - Framebuffer access: 0 - Alpha multipass: on - Mask bit: off - Advanced blending: off Misc: - Scanlines: off - Line mode: off - Unfiltered FB: on - 15 bit FB: on - Dithering: off - Screen smoothing: off - Screen cushion: off - Game fixes: off [000104c0] Unfortunately, it still doesn't work. Edit: neither does the DX6 plugin. |

Re: FF Tactics - Emulator doesn't respond at all
try using Sapu's CDR plugin when you run from a CD. it autoconfigures so there should be no problems.

Re: FF Tactics - Emulator doesn't respond at all
OK, that's fixed it, for at least one of the computers. (I haven't tried it on the other one yet, but I may not need to.) Thanks! |
