FF Chronicles little help.
First want to say Sup, I've not been here for a lont time. Well I've not posted for a long time atleast. But anyways on to the point. I just bought Final Fantasy Chronicles today. And I have been trying to play it but some strange things are happening. First here are my settings: Plugin: Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.1.73 Author: Pete Bernert GFX card: SiS 650 Resolution/Color: - 640x480 Fullscreen - [32 Bit] Textures: - R8G8A8A8 - Filtering: 0 - Hi-Res textures: 0 - VRam size: 32 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limit: on - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: Auto Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 2 - Framebuffer texture: 0 - Framebuffer access: 4 - Alpha multipass: on - Mask bit: on - Advanced blending: hardware Misc: - Scanlines: off [0] - Unfiltered FB: off - Dithering: off - Screen smoothing: off - Full vram: on - Game fixes: off [00000080] And Sound: Eternal SPU 1.41 Direct Sound Buffer: 18 Audio Out Method: Thread Realtime config: Off Wait for XA Buffer: ON Reverb: TiMidity I have also tried PEOPs Soft GPU and SPU, Pete's DSound Audio Driver. Different ones cause different things. With the settings Listed above, is about the best I have found to get the game to run. However there are blackboxes around everything and at the beginning after Kain talks to Cecil and you get control of Cecil for the first time, the sound will just hang for no reason. Also I noticed that when I had Filtering set to anything except None, When I hit X to go to the Menu it showed the Menu from the SNES version. I mean it looked Identical to it, except some of the words were messed up and scrambled. Another thing with the settings above, when I start the game (With the normal [i think] menu It tells me I don't have a memory card. But I have double checked and I have already created and formated a slot for my memory cards (I always create 2 for each game, I'm a habitual Save-Freak and I like to be able to pick up a game and go to any point in the game I want heh). When I tried the PEOPs Soft GPU Things seemed to work fine, except it too had the black boarders. I'm sorry if these things have already been addressed on here, I did searches and looked around but didn't find anything about FFIV or even Chrono Trigger (Which I have yet to try. Kind of want to see the new things in FFIV )Anyways Thanks in advance.. Oh and my Comp. Specs should either be in my signature or my profile. I don't remember, been too long since I've posted or checked. If they aren't in either one let me know and I'll post them. EDIT: Forgot to metion that If I turn Alpha Multipass Off to get rid of the black boxes, it doesn't get rid of them but makes the entire screen bright, discolored and hard to read the text, plus the boxes are still there.

Re: FF Chronicles little help.
Just an Update on my problems.. I've got the Memory Card issue fixed. Found a copy of epsxe 1.5.2, Thanks to the other thread about FFIV which apparently didn't come up when I did searches on it but showed itself after I posted mine. For the most part things seem to be okay, except the water is a funky puke-looking color or is just plain black, and the black boxes are still around. Ah well, if nobody knows of a fix to do now I can just live with it no biggie. And will wait till the next epsxe version comes out, think it's suppose to have several fixes in it right?

Re: FF Chronicles little help.
maybe you want to use PEops soft driver because this is a 2D game....or maybe you want to try playing FF2 on an SNES emulator. for eternal SPU 1.41, try just pressing "Default". it works great in every game except MGS.

Re: FF Chronicles little help.
I've tried the Soft GPU, it does the same as the D3D I'm using now. I have already played and beat the SNES version several times, both on my SNES and on the emulator. I remember even getting a couple of unusual items in the SNES version. Imp items, some sword that I can't remember the name of now, and something else. Of course back then I think I had White by the time I was fighting the Giant of Bab-il. I am only playing the PSX version because I was told there are new items, spells, monters and abilities in it. So far I've found quite a few new things, don't know what some of them do yet but ah well. Anyways, I've been playing the game regardless of the black boxes. I only posted this thread because I was wondering if anyone else had the same problems and if there was a way to fix them. If not, oh well I can live with it. That's all for now..
