Re: FF7 Compatibility, is it possible?

It would run on that comp but it probably would run slowly. The D3D plugins probably would work the best. If you do try it, make sure you turn the framebuffer settings all the way down or else the comp will choke on the battle swirls.

Re: FF7 Compatibility, is it possible?

I have the PC version, unless you like software mode I would advise emulating it. Seems the PC version only works in 3d with a few cards....Not sure is ATI is included or not..haven't tried it since I got my Radeon 9500

I had that problem with FF9, thats why i stoped emulating things. I might try it again with 7

Re: FF7 Compatibility, is it possible?

FF7 and all your PSX games will run slow one your PC, but you may ba able to have -almost- full speed with Peops Soft GPU... but don't blame me if it's ugly...
also update your plugins, it doesn't hurt

I'm also wondering why you're running XP on a so slow PC

ohh i see. well, that sucks. personally, i've only seen it twice: a friend has it and i saw it in the store once. if you find it..get it. or get a PSone and the game...

by the way, congrats on 1000 posts

EDIT: by the way, killjoy, i see no reason why he cant run XP on that computer. i have the box for XP home in front of me.

Recommended: 300 mhz or higher processor
128MB ram
1.5 hard disk space

and various other things, but those are the most important (the others are obvious....CD rom drive...keyboard..duh)

Oh IC, so the only things that can be annoying is the RAM and HD space... but with 128mb, it must be slow sometimes no?

Re: FF7 Compatibility, is it possible?

Well, you must think about it.
I started emulating PSX with FF7 and my PC was 400MHz, 256Mb and Geforce 256. Game runned nicely with D3D-plugins, but when entering Costa Del Sol, game got a bit slower. So check up my list:

PC-version:
+Minimum specs.
-Crashes.
-Videos.

PSX-emu with 400MHz:
+No crashes.
-No battle-swirl-recommended.

PSX-emu with 1,3GHz with Geforce3.
+Perfect, but only small slowdowns.

I recommend to update your PC, but if you don't try PC-version!

Re: FF7 Compatibility, is it possible?

I Upgraded my ram To 256MB Now. Would that make things run smoother if i emulated it? both 7 & 9 wise

Re: FF7 Compatibility, is it possible?

it will help a little bit. as long as you keep the settings down, you will be OK. a friend of mine got to level 99 on FF7 with a 1.2 ghz p3 IBM laptop with 120 mb of ram and intel integrated graphics. what an iron man
