Help! Cxbx not working!
Ok, of all the previous versions of cxbx that i have had, 0.7.8b is the 1st ive had any problems with. I downloaded 0.7.8b earlier and started it up without any problems, then ran the xray and gamepad demos and they both worked fine. Then i deleted my cxbx version 0.7.7b because i didnt really have any use for it anymore, after i deleted it i went back to 0.7.8b and tried to run the xray demo and as soon as i told it to start emulation cxbx crashed and i got the standard windows program crash alert "cxbx has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for in inconvenience blah blah blah" so i was a tad confused and decided to redownload it...no luck. it still crashes every time i try to run something. could someone please try to help me with this?

Re: Help! Cxbx not working!
I kinda had this problem. It told me there was an error emulating or something. What I did is I didnt open cxbx and lad the demo, I just opened the demo by double clicking. It opened up in Cxbx and no more problems.

Re: Help! Cxbx not working!
Cxbx.dll should be in the folder where the xbe your double clicking is.

Re: Help! Cxbx not working!
Um search your comp for cxbx.dll and cxbx.exe and delete those.

i deleted everything on my comp that had anything to do with cxbx so it was like i was just starting out and had never done anything with cxbx before, then i downloaded 0.7.8c and tried to run various demos and didnt have any luck with any of em, i still got the same old error message....i did notice that i didnt have some of the folders i usually have with cxbx, the folders were, and im not sure i remember this right, but i think UDATA and TDATA? again im not sure if those are the folder names or not but thats what i remember, i might just be retarded tho...

Re: Help! Cxbx not working!
The cxbx makes some regestry entries. Search the regestry for cxbx and delete them. I don't know if it really helps but just try.

Re: Help! Cxbx not working!
First of all I want to congratulate Castik, because f the great work he is doing. I'm astonished with the development of this emu. Well, I've never had any problem with any version of CXBX, and my comp isn't very good (A 750Mhz Athlon). To solve your problem try reinstalling your vidcard drivers, and then try to configure the video inside the emu. If t doesn't work try putting the exe in Win98 compatibility. If it doesn't work, sorry. I can't help you .Cya later |

Re: Help! Cxbx not working!
Doesnt seem to make sense to me, if you delete the registry entry, remove the Cxbx.exe/Cxbx.dll/UDATA/TDATA/CxbxCache directorys, then download Cxbx-0.7.8c, you should be totally back to normal. Are you using 32bit color mode? What is your exact error message? caustik |

yea im totally confused too, but yes i am using 32 bit color and the error message is as follows, "Cxbx.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." its the standard windows program crash message, i looked at the details of the problem but couldnt make heads or tails of it

Re: Help! Cxbx not working!
Sounds like a xp problem more than a cxbx problem. I could be wrong though
