noob looking to use linux..any kind!!!!

i am so tired of win98 crashing on me...

could someone please tell me the easiest version of linux for a beginning linux user??

i want one thats supports my athlon CPU and my mother board and my video card..

my mainboard is a msi kt266 pro..

hope this small amount of info is helpful to ANYONE who can help me..

BTW anyone who helps me i will be eternally gratefull to you

also it has to be capable of playing EPSXE or MAME!!!!

Lindows IIRC uses the stability of Linux with the user-friendly windows. Never used it, but thats what ive heard.

Well..... it depends on what you are going to do.....

if it is for desktop: Mandrake4, XandrOS or Lindows (being Mandrake the easiest one to get used to.... at least for me)

if it is for servers, just go with RedHat or SuSe

if you are a daredevil, want to become a linux expert, and don't mind reinstalling and reinstalling, go with Slackware

redhat 9 is the easiest

tested debian, mandrake and redhat
for the noobs or people that wan't everything set up automatically redhat is the best
