ePSXe not working. Help?
I am not able to get ePSXe to work. Virtual Game Station works, and AndiPSX ILE works, but ePSXe does not. Since AndiPSX ILE uses the same PSEmuPro plugin system as ePSXe, and I am using the same plugins in both, I can only deduce that ePSXe does not work on my PC for some reason. Can anyone help? My system specs are Athlon 1.1Ghz, Windows XP, I-Will KK266 Motherboard, 512mb ram, GeForce Ti-200 64mb, SB Live. The plugins I'm trying to use are: cd - Xeven's Cdr Driver 0.93 gpu - P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.15 (any Pete's gpu works) spu - P.E.Op.S. Dsound Audio Driver 1.7 which all work in AndiPSX ILE, so there is no problem between my system and the plugins. I think it must be a problem with ePSXe. I've tried using .bin/.cue (iso's) and PSX cd's and neither work with ePSXe (and both work in AndiPSX ILE). It just sits at a black screen and eventually says "not responding" and I have to go into Task Manager to close it. I need to use ePSXe, though, because I have to do a multidisk game disk change :\ Thanks for any help! |

Yes, I tried PSXeven too. It apparantly has the EXACT same problem as ePSXe, so I stopped bothering with it and focused on getting ePSXe to work. It shows a black screen and nothing happens. It's a black screen which eventually is labeled as "not responding" in both windowed and full-screen modes, with both emulators. If I don't use SaPu CDR or Xeven CDR plugin, then the CD rom drive does not even spin up to search for the CD when I "run from CD." Even when it does spin up, using one of those 2 plugins, it still just sits at a black screen with ePSXe and PSXeven. Regardless, it hangs whether I use CD or ISO. PSXeven's console window gets to: *Gamecode found: SCUS_944.02 *Detected NTSC Disk *Setting cpu to mode1 before it hangs. (trying Raiden in .bin/.cue format in this case) All games hang at this same spot, with different gamecode labels, so it is able to read that something unique is there before hanging... PSXeven and ePSXe seem to behave identically. I'm SOOOO frustrated right now... |

Re: ePSXe not working. Help?
It gets to "spu open..." on the ePSXe console before not responding. This happens no matter what ISO I'm using, with subchannels or not, mounted or not, and regardless of whether I use a CD or not. And it doesn't matter which program I use to write the ISO. I have tried most of them. I don't think it is an ISO or CD problem, because they all work in AndiPSX with the same CD plugins. Whatever the problem is, it prevents ePSXe, PSXeven, and PCSX from working on my PC!!!

Re: ePSXe not working. Help?
OMFG!! I finally found out what my problem was!!!! I had a bad bios file!! It had the same number of bits as the good bios file I just downloaded, so there was no way of knowing. Except it never did show up in the Config Wizard, so I thought that was a little strange. Thanks a lot for your help. It was such an easy thing to fix, but took me 2 days to track down. The reason AndiPSX worked, and nothing else did, is because it has a built-in bios that it defaults to, apparantly! Gamelore :guitar: |

Well we're not here to be "ye destroyers of all things cool" ya know . But reviving old threads is a little irratating (especially when you make a prat out of yourself by tring to help solve the original problem ) Anyways, we have an off topic section for ya to let your hair down. Why not check it out ?
