I've been playing with this a day, and I have issues...

To begin, hats off to the emulation improvements themselves. I'm definitely seeing improvements in how the games run, etc. I especially like how the problems I was seeing with uploads vanished with this release.

I see two flaws though:

One, ePSXe doesn't close right. When I close the window, the program keeps running in the background with sound until I click on the close box. I'm running Windows XP / 1 gig RAM / Athlon XP 2000+ (My old powersupply nuked my old 2700+ so I had to swap in a new mobo+processor) / Radeon 9700+. It MIGHT be plug-in related but I dunno. I'm using Pete's OGL2 with the built-in sound and Moody's CD-R plugin and I think I'm using the built-in input, too.

Two, "Configurating?" WTF? Con-fig-ur-ating? I didn't see that in the old version of ePSXe, was that there before?

Sorry, I meant I manually had to close it with the task manager. It's annoying to no end.

Re: New ePSXe 1.6.0 released

ok veritron here is what you do. you have 2 choices. one, when you are done playing, press Escape and close the blue ePSXe window. or, go to Run and Enable Logs and make sure it's enabled. when you want to close it, it will only close if:

1. you close the blue window (not when game is running)
2. you close the DOS window

When I upgraded from 1.5.2 to 1.6.0, my settings got erased on the emulator, but since I have epsxecutor, my settings are saved.

In other words: your settings are probably safe.

Re: New ePSXe 1.6.0 released

the plugin settings are saved in the plugin. i simply copied all the files from all of my 1.5.2 directories and everything was saved and perfect.

Ok, thanks

Lol, I had enable logs on so before, I always used to close it through that. Thank god you don't need to restart ePSXe anymore when you change plug-in settings.

Still, I think next version, if you don't have logs enabled and you click the close box on the emulation screen, the emu should display the blue box/ actually close, not keep the emulation running in the background with no way short of the task manager to stop it.
