Light Gun

I'm ordering the ACT Labs USB Lightgun for the PC for my custom built arcade cabinet. (http://www.act-labs.com/scripts/proddetails.asp?pid=92) Besides using it for House of the Dead 2 and other MAME games, I was wondering if it would work with ePSXe (to play Time Crisis: Project Titan).

It works just like a mouse, so it works with a ton of MAME games and you can even use it like a mouse on the desktop.

I set Gamepad 1 to Digital/Analog Mouse T0 (F5) and I can play Time Crisis using the mouse to aim and the keyboard to shoot. I'm assuming I when I get the light gun I can use it in the same way. Has anybody tried this? Also, is it possible to set a button for the controller to a mouse button instead of a keyboard button (ex: I want left click to be X and right click to be square).

Thanks!

Re: Light Gun

The "Digital/Analog Mouse T0" mode in ePSXe is emulating the Playstation mouse, not the gun. So any shooting game that supports the Playstation mouse should work with that mode.
As for the ACT Labs gun... it should work in ePSXe just as well as any PC game.

Re: Light Gun

yes, but no one has ever confirmed it does; so it's really a gamble you've got to take until someone confirms it...

Well I gave it a try tonight and it didn't work. Well it kind of worked, but not enough to be playable. When you try to shoot the little blue aiming cursor bearly moves at all on the screen. It just about stays in one spot...

I tried it in a couple of other PC games and emulators and the only other game it didn't work with was Virtua Cop 2.

Is there a release time for the next version of ePSXe that will support lightguns?

Re: Light Gun

Sorry to hear about that...
Did you try different graphics plugins and resolutions?

ePSXe never has a a "release time". It comes out when you see it come out
And I heard nothing about lightgun support on future releases of any PS1 emu, except FPSE... even that was only a screenshot of a plugin with a name that sounded like gun support, nothing more.

I have the latest, and I see the support in gamepad setup but what guns are supported?
I so badly want to use my guncon rippoffs(mad katz and nyko) but all around I hear they dont pickup vga(princeton arcadia 27") I can pretty much confirm this as they don't work through actual psone on the video in channel. Could one just solder in the correct photo receptor? and then wire up a custom vga adapter?
I ask alot but I have been hoping lightguns would soon be supported as I have an unusual thirst for blood and lead lately.
Feel free to gang up folks...
