windows xp pro failed to detect my monitor correctly, help!

I'm using win xp pro and I have a 15" monitor, usually it detectly my monitor and only allow me to set either 800X600 or 1024X768.

But now it doesn't detect correctly anymore, i tried shut down and restart, doesn't help either.

I'm using gf4mx440 with 44.03 WHQL det, any help will be appreciated

? Looks fine to me.... usually monitors are named "default monitor"

I think you have an option enabled to override refresh rates and resolutions. That can screw stuff up. Ill see how to disable it.

ehh....drivers? normally drivers let you display what your card can...my geforce2 does that where it can only display in like 256 colors or something until i install my graphics card drivers...and then try going to the monitor companies site...normally they ahve drvers ffor your monitor there too

Okay hope this helps. This is my guess whas wrong.

Go to your card settings then ..reefresh rate overrides. and follow instructions in pic.

Install your monitor drivers as well as its color profile average_guy.

Razor Blade those setting are for D3D apps only . Actually it works perfectly for D3D apps.

well it still makes more resolutions appear and so on. Even for desktop and non 3d appz.

the resolutions that appear there are the supported by the drivers, but the image you uploaded says D3D apps .

I dont know bout that option. Best way to find out is search on yahoo or something.

from the nvidia's 44.03 display properties user's guide:

• 2x enables antialiasing using the 2x mode. This mode offers improved image
quality and high performance in 3D applications.

• Quincunx enables a patented antialiasing technique available in the GeForce
GPU family. Quincunx antialiasing offers the quality of the slower, 4x
antialiasing mode, but at nearly the performance of the faster, 2x mode.
