Anybody else find large sigs annoying

Sorry if this post offends anyone but I'm in the mood for a rant.
Why do so many people here and on other boards have pictures in their sigs, I often find myslef reading the messages posted, when the screen jumps up or down because a picture in somebodies sig has just loaded, would the world be such a bad place if their were text only signetures aloud.

...the problem is not as bad as in other boards, where users have ridiculusly BIG sigs - there's a logical limit in the sigs' dimensions in emuforums.

...but yes, sometimes its a bit annoying to wait for them to load... so, do what I did: Turn them off, from your CP options

Yeah large sigs can be annoying. Or sigs that move too much... sigs like mine are the ideal

Re: Anybody else find large sigs annoying

I think sigs that are around my size. Almost everyones ... Are perfect. They do not make posts look stupid or anything. Its when you get to outrageous sizes that it gets annoying.

Re: Anybody else find large sigs annoying

Like I said I am not trying to offend anyone but if I may use your sig picture as an example Razor Blade, I will attempt to explain.
I am a very quick reader and generally can read through a thread before the page is fully loaded, however as I am scrolling down, by means of my wheel mouse, Razor Blade's pic loads, this causes the page to jump away from where the screen was at the time, causing me to lose my place, if there are a lot of picture sigs in the thread this can happen alot.
I often don't login unless I find a thread I want to reply to, so contol panel options would not help me for the most part (that is if I could find it in the first place)

Re: Anybody else find large sigs annoying

Well as Killjoy said. Wait for the page to load if its a big deal. I mean it will take you like 5 more seconds out of your day. No big deal right? Well as long as we can have sigs I will. It looks cool and gives more room for people to have there alter ego explained.

NP Man. We all have little pet peaves I guess. Yours is that you dont care for sigs ... But will that sig option work if we are hosted at other places and not NGEMU?

Re: Anybody else find large sigs annoying

i hear what you're saying DB7. the sigs weren't what bothered me though. it was when, in NGEmu1.0, there were pictures in the thread. it'd just keep loading one and shifting the screen. kind of annoying. sigs dont seem to cause TOO much of a slowdown. they are only around 25kb, so it doesn't take that long to get them all loaded.

Re: Anybody else find large sigs annoying

Sigs pics don't bother me, since they're small enough so they don't affect me at all.

But I don't like when people put 10 lines of text in their sigs, as it gets a bit annoying sometimes... Not much of an issue, though.

I like sigs.....they explain a person's feelings and/or intents. But that's my opinion. And there should always be limits.

They're an art form. I would turn them off if I didn't like them myself...but I think most of the pics are nice and add to the experience.

Re: Anybody else find large sigs annoying

I like small sigs. either a small banner or something is fine. I dont plan on coming here to traffic people to my site anyways. just gives everyone a better idea of who I am.

Sigs should be no longer than 200 px (total) and 100 for the image. The image shouldn't be bigger than 20k.
