Getting disc data onto computer

I think I'll just go ahead and ask the big question. How would anyone manage to get the data off of the discs?Calm down TS, I'm not asking for iso's or anything. As far as I know, normal drives cannot do this.I'm not even sure what kind of format they are.DVD or...bla. Or if they are incrypted out to in.I've so much of this mumbo jumbo over the years that I don't know whats really true(In case you guys are going,"This guy's an IDIOT!").Is there some non-talked about method of doing this? Such as hooking up to the box? Just asking outta curiosity.

Re: Getting disc data onto computer

ooooooohhh. I get it. He's the author of the emulator as well.Tool with the emulator. Got it. I hope he releases soon. It's more than good enough for a first release. But good things come to those who wait. Power to him. Seems like a talented guy.

Re: Getting disc data onto computer

In order to rip DC games from the DC, you need wither the DC coder's cable (IIRC it plugs into the serial port, and thus is ballbreakingly slow), or the BBA (there are 2 versions IIRC, a 100Megabit (12.5Megs/sec) or the 10 Megabit (1.25 Megs/sec)). All of these I understand require a pirce of software to run on the DC. Cyrus didn't write that to the best of my knowledge.
Try searching yahoo for "dc iso ripping"

Re: Getting disc data onto computer

like anywhere from 500 MB-1GB that makes anywhere from 10-24 hours per game.

GD ROMs. Kinda like a DVD, but more encryption is used. Does anybody know why its able to read CDs also? I thought it is like a high-density laser or something......

IMO, its working almost the same as DVD ROM that can read normal CDs. High desity, yes, but that working on the GD disc, for normal CD probably it switched ?

Re: Getting disc data onto computer

It probably just changes the frequency of the laser, or maybe there is something in hte TOC which tells it how far the gaps are apart.
