FF7 battles

Everything works in Final Fantasy 7 for be but the battles. The swirly thing that happens before a battle doesnt work, and durring the battle I cant see the menu screen, just a black box. I'm using Pete's D3D plugin, and i know about the thing in the config menu about specific games. I have the one select for ff7, but i dont see that it made any difference. Could anyone gelp me out?

enable the FF7 swirl game fix and set off screen drawing to 4 and what is your graphics card?
