PS2 controller (buttons must be pressed all the way)
I was wondering how to get around this... I have the Dual-USB force feedback joypad(MP8866) USB converter, with a Dual Shock 2(PS2) hooked up to it. Since the PS2 pad is all analog, I have to press all the buttons and d-pad 100% to get an effect. Does anyone know how to get it so that you just have to press the button/d-pad lightly for it to register a command?? Also, I could not get force feed back to work, but I don't think this is related to epsxe Any help is appreciated, thanks |

I also just got an MP8866. I'm trying to use it with a dualshock controller from a PS 1. The digtal buttons work great, but when I press the analog button on the controller I get nothing. I was really hoping to get some analog response from the thing, and I was considering picking up a PS2 controller to see if it worked any better. I guess I'd better save my money, eh?

try pressing F5 during the game, and it should enable analog. if you see a big A in the upper right part of the screen pop up, then analog is enabled. then hit the analog button on the controller. as for the force feedback, it is sorta hard to get it to work properly. if you want, i can post a picture of the analog enabled.

I just fixed it sorta... Actually I plugged in a PS1 Dual Shock controller, which doesn't have analog buttons/dpad, and it now feels like I'm playing on the console...*edit*my analog button works perfectly too, and the two joysticks work But my force feedback still doesn't work=( Yeah, I'd appreciate it if you posted the pic...is it a pic of a working controller or does it teach u how to do it? ah what the heck. here's the picture on how to know if analog is enabled. edit: to enable force feedback, go into epsxe, click on config, and go down to game pad. once you select the controller you want to modify, look to the right of the box. there should be a section called rumble. mess around with those settings until it works at all or correctly. Force Feed Back (rumble), is enabled through your usb adapter (if you are using an actual PSX controller that is). ePSXe will support "rumble" but only if your adapter supports it or if you are using a special adapter called the Berutter. If you are using a non PSX controller that is usb and has rumble built in, then that should work also. But be warned, WIN XP, at least for me, can have troubles w/rumble especially in emulators. sincerely, sx/amiga |

Yeah, I was actually talking about my USB converter's settings/properties. I "test" the rumble feature, messed around with the settings but it doesn't even rumble. I'm running windows ME. Thanks for posting the pic tho |

Nope, I'm still having trouble with mine. Which version of the setup program did you use for your MP88XX? Mine came on a floppy, and seems to be dated 10/27/2001. The drivers it installs are ffdrv0.dll, ffdrv1.dll, ffdrv2.dll and mpjoycpl.dll. They all seem to report themselves as version 1.0.0.0, and list their full name as "Magic Super Usb Force Feedback Joypad" from TigerGame, Ltd. I'm running Windows 2000 with DirectX 8.1 (A?). When I pull up the properties in the Game Controllers control panel, all the buttons work fine, but I get no response of any kind when I try to test the analog sticks. I expected the two axes to move around at least a little bit. The rumble effect also does nothing when I press the test button in the control panel, but that's the least of my worries. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks! |
