SNK is still alive

I don't know if someone knew about it but it surprised me that SNK was at the E3 again... check Gamespot article for a bit more of insight on the matter.

And the best part is that the next SVC, SVC:Chaos seems to be more oriented to the KoF style... well ok, I've read that but it's enough to get my interest on the game

I keep hearing some of the people say kof2001/2002 suck because they were not made by Snk, but from what i know, there were the SAME programmers who made the games. (correct me if i am wrong).

p/s I cant go back to kof98-99 after i tried kof2002, it is really a cool idea to make kof2002 to be such a speedy game I hope snk vs capcom would be as speedy as kof2002.

I also play snk vs capcom 1 and 2 and the frame in PS2 is very ugly, garou: mark of the wolf has better frame and animation than capcom vs snk in PS2, I surprise to hear that snk is still alive and hopefully they make a better games than before.

I dont know if the programmers were the same but the thing is the graphics were plain and with poor colors. Sometimes you could even see just one color for the street for example. and not to mention the music. I was used to the awesome music of the battles of 99 and 2000 and then almost no music and if there was it was like a kof 94 version but with less arrangements. Although the game was somewhat improved (i dont like those eternal combos, not to mention the juggle ones...) the graphics and the extremely boring music kept it away from me.

Yeah, they are a part of Playmore now (or so it says on the article I posted, I can't read yours... it's in jp )... but at least it's the same staff, and it'll be the same style of the old SNK fighting games...

I didn't life Kof 2k1, either. But IMO Kof 2k2 is quite good. It has returned to the old school of Kof 98, without any of that lame strikers. Overall SNK rocks. I just hope they (or the company that owns them) release a Kof 2k3, just for the sake of it.

A new Garou wouldn't hurt either

IMO the KoF series got a bit influenced by Capcom's flashy style, hopefully that won't happen again...

Garou was Fatal Fury IX, right? But a new Garou would be really appreciated.

And yes, the KoF series was influenced by Capcom, but KoF 2k2 IMO got away from the worst influences. If they make a KoF 2k3 with the same overall style as KoF 2k2 it would bem much better.

the fights in Garou were much better than the ones in KoF2k1. i also haven't played KoF2k2, but if Boltzmann is correct, they might have just tripped with 2k1 and now they're back on track.

I want a sequal to Last Blade II

BTW: The Kof sucked when they screwed up the looks of every character and tried to make the game look "cool". I still dig Kof99 till now

Greetings,

IMO KoF 2k2 is as good as '98 (and even better in some aspects, specially the funny ending). It has many parallels with '98, as it's also a "dream match" with no true story or place in the KoF storyline.
The worst change it has is Takuma's Ko' ou Ken which is nearly useless now (it has no projectile, just the gestures). And they made some good (IMO) changes, like turning Ralph's Galactic Phantom into a simple special move.

Live long and prosper.

And we cannot forget one thing: ANGEL IS HOT! Its even hotter in KoF2k2!

But seriously. KoF2k2 isn't as good as KoF98. There are some flaws on the gameplay, the music sux, the backgrounds are ugly...

It's really great to see Sammy takeing care of SNK the way they have been since buying them, at first I was worried that they would ruin the great SNK name, glad I was wrong.

Now he does it like we do in the real life (you know, that movement its a part of a kata or form in karate but its useless if you ask me)

I like the work of playmore with rage of dragons, really good music, backgrounds and specially artwork, not like kof 2001 and 2001. If they are gpoing to make Chaos then it will be a good game.
