neo geo was a console that didnt last too long because of its expense
it was also arcade games
basically, the console was the same exact hardware as the arcades and the cartriges were the rom images

the problem was that the system was very expensive and the cartriges were also expensive

sorry i dont know much more about the emulation since the rom images are quite large and i have a 56k modem

SNK man!!! Yeah neojag neo-geo has been in the arcades more then a decade and people still enjoy the games, wheter it's from fighting, sports, puzzles, and action or adventure. I've been a big fan of it for years!!!!!!!!
The emulator I use is neorage 0.6b (which is discontinued!!!), but is the far most best emu out there, I mean I like it alot.
Here is the web site to get the emu;
neorage 0.6b

enjoy it!!!!!!!!

Trusty 'ol MAME, the workhorse of the emu world, plays them very well. All you need to do is drop the Neo Geo BIOS and the game rom in your rom directory then start it as usual.

For me, the command is
mamewpp [gamename] -joy -dirty -dd

Of course, you can also use MAME32 and specify the options in its dialogs.

what does m8s mean:confused:
Anyway the emu I said before is easy . I mean if a man could configure a psx emu, this would be nothing at all.

I can't speak for the others, but MAME doesn't have to be installed. It comes as a zip file that contains all the necessary files for the emu. Just extract them to a directory and put your ROMs in the roms directory.

MAME, or NeoRAGEx.

Rumor has it, that a new version of NRX will surface in 3 days or so, so you may want to wait..

Also, the author of StretchMAME has included a faster Neo-Geo driver in StretchMAME32 0.37b16a, so you may wish to try that, or wait until the next official MAME release..

Newer games can be about that size (KOF98 and the like), the earlier games are considerably smaller (somewhere within the 10 to 30 MB range). As with most things, it varies from game to game.
