FF2 cheats
Does anyone have cheat codes for FF2 from the origins cd? I am stuck at the tower with the ultima scroll at the 7th floor with no more magic or either to help me get to the 10th lvl and i don't want to wrap out to restock then go back through and my next fight kills me. Or if anyone knows the way to hack the save file using the hex editor that would help too (i.e. mp, hp, etc). Thanks.

I'm not sure how to hack FF2 yet (I am currently figuring out how to hack FF1), but you can try the following, this will work for any game, any application (not just ePSXe): 1. Download GameHack32 or GameWiz32 2. Install and start it 3. Choose the application you want to hack (ePSXe) 4. Look in the game for the HP of a character you want to edit 5. Search in GameHack/Wiz for this value, you may get a few addresses. 6. Play your game, when your HP changes, go back to GameHack/Wiz 7. Search for this new value 8. Repeat steps 5. to 7. until you only find one address. 9. Double click this address and set the value you want eg. 999 10. Lock the value by clicking the checkbox. 11. Play your game, your character's HP should now be locked at 999. Have a look here: http://gw32.dlh.net/main.php?show=screenshots&lang=eng Enjoy

I didn't know [pec] could do that, thank's for the tip ![]() Those gameshark codes are for the US version, which I a shame since I have the European version, I guess I will try to figure out if it's possible to convert them to work. |

I used [pec] to find all my codes. Just remember, when using [pec] to find your codes, you will need to change your single-byte codes from 800xxxxx to 300xxxxx. leave your 2-byte and 4-byte codes the same.

@Zeke_D: Cool, i'll give that a go tonight. I wonder if I could simply calculate an offset between the US and European and apply it to all the addresses, it would save me having to find all that data again. Currently I know where a lot of this data is in the PSX memory card, I was wondering if you had any details of the checksum method used for FF1, I noticed that you got a lot of decent documentation on your site. |
