Before Computers...
found this on another forum and i decided to share  Before Computers... An application was for employment, A program was a TV show, A cursor used profanity, A keyboard was a piano! Memory was something that you lost with age, A CD was a bank account, And a floppy disk was something Terribly wrong in your back. Compress was something you did to garbage, Not something you did to a file. And if you unzipped anything in public, You'd be in jail for awhile! Log on was adding wood to a fire, Hard drive was a long trip on the road. A mouse pad was where a mouse lived, And a backup happened to your commode! Cut - you did with a pocket knife, Paste you did with glue. A web was a spider's home, And a virus was the flu! add more if you like

Before computers: RAM was a type of sheep..... A video card would get you some free movies/discounts at Blockbuster/Local movie rental place. Emulation was most widely known as a synonym of fanatacism/worship..... Windows were known as those things that you had in your house made out of glass that you could look through to see the world passing by..... Apples would keep a doctor away instead of giving compatability nightmares (software-wise, anyway) Software (Soft wear) was something you/your wife might wear.....on certain occasions..... Hardware (Hard wear) was something you would wear to protect yourself from physical injury, whether to the head, neck, or.....etc..... A Mac was something big that you could get at McDonald's..... A network would be something spies used to obtain pertinent information..... An e-mail was a mail sent somewhere that began with an 'E' Java was a type of coffee..... The 26 letters of the alphabet weren't known for anything other than their remarkable spelling capabilities..... The numbers 4294967296 and 65536 had as much meaning as any other number..... You couldn't have bad credit, you could only end up dead. (No credit cards, and no real regulation on what happened to people who didn't.....pay up) Maybe more to come later.....

Before computers... A life wasn't something you obtained in a game. Passwords were only used for criminal intent. A monitor watched you, not the other way around. To see a site, you had to actually move. Discs were just a nickname for a frisbee. You had to actually call long-distance to talk to a long-distance boyfriend of girlfriend. |

Before Computers: Web was something a spider used..... Surfing was done at the ocean. You would keep tabs on something instead of TABing something..... Shift meant that you were uncomfortable and moved slightly. A message board was a piece of wood inscribed with a message..... Online meant you could walk on a tight rope..... Net was something used to hold fish/catch something..... Few people had need to have more than one or two aliases..... Firewalls were something used to hold fire back.....either that, or they were a wall of fire racing towards you.....  A router was commonly referred to as a hunting dog. (As in to rout some rabbits out of the bushes.....) GIF was a type of peanut butter. (Ok, I know it's JIF.....but still) IE meant you meant something to explain something you said..... A byte (bite) was something used in conjunction with food..... There was no need for the prefix Tera.....(unless there's something I'm missing) Microsoft would be an insult to someone's hardware..... DOS was the number two in espanol..... A printer was someone who spent long hours setting predetermined, metal-engraved text A camera had film..... More later, if I can think of them.....

Before Computers: A motherboard meant you couldn't keep a mamma properly entertained..... A bus was something you rode on..... Dinosaurs roamed the earth.....(It's true!) Emu was a type of bird..... You didn't look at a cow and think of technology.....(Gateway) Dell was something you might find a farmer in.....(The farmer in the dell.....) An .ini was a type of belly button..... Something .RAR was something that you couldn't find much of.....come to think of it..... Cache was something you used to buy things..... Al Gore grew tobacco in his backyard..... Warez were something you actually sold..... A crack was a defect in a smooth surface..... You couldn't make keys out of thin air..... Serial was something you ate.....with a bowl.....and a spoon.....if you were lucky, you got some milk..... Adobe was something you used to build houses..... More later, if I can think of any.....but I've stretched it pretty far.....
