Processor Temps

I recently got a Pentium 4 2.53 GHz processor. Anyways, I'm not sure but I think my processor is running hot. It's averaging at about 50 degrees celsius all the time. Is this a dangerous temperature? And I was wondering what all you NgEmu users computer processor temps were so that I can get a feel as to what an average processor temperature is. So if you know your processor temp, please post it. Thanks.

Its a bit hot ( if you are not overclocking it) > My AMD Athlon XP 1800+ runs on around 42 degrees C. I am only using a fan.

Don't worry dude... the Asus P4Pe has issues with reporting the wrong temps.

Are you using the asus p4pe? At asusboards, all the users know that the board reports the temp as being around 10% above normal.

Heres the link for ya: http://www.asusboards.com/forums/sho...=p4pe+AND+temp

You mean me? No, Im using a MSI 845PE Max. At 50c my heatsink is slightly warm to the touch, I would think that the temp measurings are pretty accurate.
My case temps are abit high though, with an Intel fan cooling my Radeon (massive heat dissipation baby!) and all but one of the case fans off. I usually average at about 46-47c when I turn them all on.

MSI all the way baby! (MSI 648 user here. I was gonna get the PE but I couldn't resist the marketing tool that is AGP 8x ). Anyways, if you know that your case temps are a tad too high cuz of your Radeon (man I wish I had that), then just add a slot fan!

EDIT: I can't believe I didn't read the man's entire post . My temps are 38 celcius idle 52 on load after 24 hrs of prime95 torture test .

Slot fan? Naw, the Intel fan pretty much gushes all the hot air into the side of the case, then most of the hot air rises up and a 92mm fan pushes them to the exhaust fan, it also draws cold air intake from the front intake fans and push them to the middle of the case, not to mention push the hot air from the Volcano to exhaust as well.
This setup of 10 fans keeps my puter and I pretty happy, exhaust air is always hot/warm, too.
I only get hot case temps when Im in silent mode.
MSI is cool, but I find their products somehow performing a little poorer than big names like Asus and Gigabyte. They're cheaper however and I guess that makes up for their poorer performance.

@ Han: Yeah, I like MSI cuz they don't rip you off (asus p4s8x anyone) and though their products don't perform as well, they offer an amazing price to performance ratio.

Player-X has suggested flashing the bios and that is a good way to start. If you don't know how or are unsure, then just check around the web because there are many guides on this topic.
