Stuttering with Gran Turismo 2 GT@

Okay, so I'm using 1.5.0 so it will run off the CD-ROM. It will run good for a while. Like 20min to an hour. Then it will start to stutter, the graphics and sound in unison. During the time it is stuttering it won't take any input from the controler. I have to hold down [Esc] and wait for the next one second "sample." to get pack to ePSXe. Now the game will keep going, one secong it plays, and one second it stutters. Some times I can wait it out and it will only stutter several times. Som times I have to wait a min. Sometimes, I don't have the patience to wait longer than 5 min. I can save the state, reset and it will be fine. If I save the state, then reload the state, or another one, it will still stutter untill I reset it. This will happen more and more ofter untill I quit ePSXe and restart the WHOLE program. I do have the FPS limiter on @ 60, 'cause when it was off it acted strange. I'm running it in pete's DirectX 7. The OpenGL plugin doesn't work right. I also have a Creative SB16 ISA PnP.

Okay, I made an ISO and an IMG and both do the same thing, though the iso and img seem to snap out of it quicker. I got new video drivers too. Any one know where to get 1.5.1? it's not on epsxe.com

Okay, I don't understand. The farther along I get in the game, the more often it stutters. Some times the controler stops responding (the emulator just stopps taking input.) Some times I have to load the game, then load a save game to gt the controler working. Then even some times after the save game loads, it will start stuttering again. I even tried arcade mode, and it won't even let the controler work. This is really pissing me off. Any help would be greatly appriciated!

Norton AntiVirus, MSN Messanger, MS Mouse Driver, that's about it. Not that I've added anything since the Nintendo emulator worked fine.
