Hi,

ok, I can do so: I can make an .iso of my "Ape Escape" (which is NTSC, not PAL as your) and try it w/ P©SX to find out if it works. Then, I'll wrote the results .

Thx, bye

Hi,

ok, andré, np, just a question: which OS r u using? I use XP Pro, but I'm quite sure it works even on W2k, not sure under W9x/ME. R u ready? Just follow these istructions!

1) d/l the .zip I attached
2) unzip it into a temp folder
3) copy the 2 .dll into C:\Windows\System32\
4) start the MP-8866.reg and click OK when the pop-up window tells u if u want to add the infos to the Windows Registry
5) go into the Window Controller Control Panel and test the rumble of player one and two (I'll attached an image of my Controller Control Panel in a new post)
6) plug into the PSXtoUSB second player pad a PSX pad
7) go on ePSXe Game Pad 1 config window and set the values as my previous image on page 1
8) try a analog&rumble game like "Gran Turismo"

I'm here for help!

Thx, bye

edit >>> I forgot: uninstall any previous driver for the Super Dual Box! If u have problems, please let me know them!

Hi,

- for my attachment: sorry for not working, ready2rumbelX, but I was quite sure, I mean, it uses the force feedback driver for the MP-8866 (aka Super Dual Box) PSXtoUSB, so, probably if I have your EMS, probably I could solve the problem, but I don't have it, sorry!

- for "Ape Escape": on P©SX I can't get it working, I mean, not only the CD, but even the .iso doesn't work, everytime I try, P©SX crashes and exits. Probably P©SX doesn't work w/ "Ape Escape", I'll make a search in the forum for other threads

- a simple question: u wrote u can use the rumble&analog on P©SX, but on ePSXe it doesn't still work?

Thx, bye

edit >>> I made a search in the forum for "Ape Escape": there's not a specific thread for the problem w/ P©SX, but I wrote to 2 users, probably they can play it on P©SX. I'm waiting their reponses

Gismo, it's funny how Ape Escape doesn't work for you either.....

Anyway, I still can't get the Dual Shock to work in ePSXe. You know, goto http://www.hkems.com , that's the *official* site of my EMS USB 2 converter.....maybe you'll find something I didn't....

Ok, ready2rumbelX, I visited the official site and I d/led the driver, maybe if I install it on my XP I can find smthing on the Registry to solve your problem. But I've not a lot of time this evening/night, and so I'm going to do that tomorrow evening (during the day I'm on my lab  ).

So, wait, please .

Thx, bye

I LOVE YOU, Gismo! You're a great guy! I only wish there was something I could do to repay you.....

What I love about the human spirit (sorry i'm going to get a little soapy ), is the ablilty to help one another, even those you don't know...like you, Gismo. You don't know me, yet you go through so much trouble to help me, and don't say it's not a problem, cause messing around with the registry is no easy chore......so thanks alot, man....I owe you....

Hi, ready2rumbelX, on XP here the files the EMS USB Setup install:

- C:\WINDOWS\System32\usbpadcp.dll
The Windows Controller Control Panel (from Start > Control Panel > Games Controller or something like this, I've XP Italian and so I don't know the exact menus in other languages, sorry)

- C:\WINDOWS\System32\usbpadff.dll
The Force Feedback driver, obviously to make rumble your pads

And the setup add some registry keys to configure your PSXtoUSB to use that Control Panel and that Force Feedback driver w/ various FF effects. To better know these keys, I need u export them from your registry, because I've some of them, but as I don't plug the EMS USB 2 (I don't have one ), I don't have all the keys. To export them, please start C:\Windows\regedit.exe and then find the keys u need to export, choose File > Export and give it each time a different name. The keys I need r:

- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{77919E22-91C0-4dc5-8FD2-ADAC23D9B63A}

- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{7C77A585-3F48-46f7-A0D9-EA8C942B7594}

- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\V ID_0B43&PID_0001

- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\V ID_0B43&PID_0003

- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\V ID_0B43&PID_0004
and I don't think u have also it, but if u have, please send me too:

- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\V ID_0B43&PID_0002

Please, send them to my e-mail address, u know how to obtain it

Thx, bye

PS in the Windows Controller Control Panel, u've an image like the one I attached, right?

to rei_fox:

which adapter? the Super Dual Box (which I have) or the EMS USB 2 (which ready2rumbelX has)?

Buy the Super Dual Box from here (don't mind of the name, it's the Super Dual Box, I bought mine from there )

Buy the EMS USB 2 from here (I think it's the same of ready2rumbelX, I mean, I never bought this PSXtoUSB, but the images r the same ) or here (direct link to the product) and the main site.

Thx, bye

hey, Gismo, thanx for the drivers! i'll try em as soon as i get back to uni, but since we have the same adapter, it should work. did u code the drivers yourself? and yes, i have WinXP. is there a reason u have to plug the controller into 2p? would it work in 1p?
thanks again.

to andré:

u'r wellcome for the driver and no, I didn't code it myself, I just install/uninstall, test/untest all the drivers I found for the Super Dual Box to find out which works well for mine, the Windows registry keys and also the minimal drivers needed. And for the Super Dual Box version (there'r different versions, I saw 2 of them), check out the black chip under the PSXtoUSB: if it's 1cm long, u've my same version, if 2.5/3cm long u've the same version of a friend of mine. But don't worry, my patch works for mine version, but even the SDB of my friend works well. Anyway, try my patch and let me know (remember, uninstall any previously drivers!).

Thx, bye

Sorry, Gismo, my comp has been offline for a few days......i'm working on getting those registry threads you need......as for thw Windows Control Panel, this is what it looks like for me......

Obviously, i've held the analogue stick, which shows the arrows on the analogue stick, and i've held O and X, which shows it as button 2 and 3....

And this....obviously, when I click on 'Shock' or 'Rumble', it test the Shock and Rumble on the pad that's connected......both pictures are for Port 1 and 2.

EDIT > Gismo, i've got the registry keys you need, but I had to put them in an attachment, and I need to send it via my email account, so could you PM me your email address? As soon as you do, i'll send it....
