Cool Well Someone is preparing for DX 9.0

The new madonion website.

Madonion's new website

The entire site has been given a make over, and a new name It should also be noted that 3dmark2003 is lingering closely. The reps at madonion are posting little sweet tid bits about it in the forums day by day. I can't wait to try it.

Unfortunately I'm not looking forward to seeing that message "NO hardware support" again

WTF is up with these guys. First it's Futuremark (3dMark 99) then it's Mad Onion (3dMark 200/2001), now it's Futuremark again?

MadOnion.com Changes Company Name to Futuremark Corporation

New Name Leverages Strength of Product Line and Aligns Company and Products in a Single Brand Name

Saratoga, CA – December 11th, 2002 – MadOnion.com™, announced today that it has changed its company name to Futuremark® Corporation. The goal of the name change is to leverage the strength of the 3DMark® and PCMark™ product lines and to align its corporate and product brand identities.

Futuremark® Corporation will continue to be the leading provider of computer performance analysis software and services to its established corporate and end-user customer bases. In addition, the company provides services to IT industry companies, enabling online marketing based on personalized performance information and allowing them to provide enhanced customer support.

"Effectively we are leveraging the phenomenal success of the 3DMark® product line," said Tero Sarkkinen, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Futuremark® Corporation. "With over 100 large corporate customers and 30 million end-users using our products and services today, we felt it was a good time to capitalize on the momentum of our product family."

Futuremark® Corporation has adopted its new name as a statement of the brand value of its products and is delivering on this promise with a synergistic, two-pronged approach. First, Futuremark® will continue to offer and expand on their popular 3DMark® and PCMark™ benchmark software suites. Second, Futuremark®’s service offerings complement the product lines and offer unique tools for product marketing, market intelligence and customer support. Futuremark® is well positioned into growth into new areas of benchmarking, such as the PDA and the wireless handset market.

"In conjunction with our aggressive software development and service strategies, we have been pursuing the development of a strong corporate identity that will accurately represent our company and its services to our clients and prospects”, stated Sarkkinen. "While our company name is changing, all core elements of the organization will remain the same. Futuremark® Corporation will continue to provide our customers and partners with the ability to objectively analyze computer performance and we will continue to place emphasis on our strong partnerships with industry leaders," continued Sarkkinen.

Along with the name change, the company adopted a new corporate identity, including a new logo and visual identity, and a new website that can be found at www.futuremark.com/pressroom. The changes are effective immediately, and all future business activity will be undertaken with the new name.

I would assume the DX9-specific features will only work on DX9 cards. I'm just hoping I'll have a Radeon 9500/9700 Pro by then.

Well I hope to have a Radeon 9500/9700 Pro by then. I know I'll have a new system in a couple of months and I'll accept nothing other than the R300.

Hmm Why did you buy the Radeon 9000 so close to a 9500?

I don't exactly know when I'm getting my new comp. I could be next month or the next several months. I want to try out new games but my GF2 just wasn't cutting it anymore and I'm not going to wait around for months on end hoping for a new system.

Please tell me, why everyone is so crazy about benchmarking their videocard? The only time I ever did it was to see if my computer could run Final Fantasy XI.

Sometimes it simply doesn't make sense, but for a different reason: You're only girl I know who would rather spend on computer hardware rather than clothes or Hello Kitty anything or other girly stuff.

Sounds pretty cool. But I heard that these benchmark programs aren't free. Am I right?
