A big question is on Rareware right now. Its to be said that new games on the xbox are gonna be released by rare very soon. I think we should wait. when rare was with nintendo, it brought up some great games, even in the N64 era ( anyone remembers Cronky's Bad fur day? ). Now its with Microsoft, and with a new administration and team, we should see a change in rare's previous style

Kane, Samor, yeah, all good games come from Japan, but dont forget that MS has the potential to do its own games too,....

One company won't shift the balance that far. Admittedly they haev Sega, but most of the sega games are Multi Platform.

Kingstar, as I predicted, about 25 people left Rare when they moved to Microsoft, with the majority joining Free Radical. Since they had already lost most of the Goldeneye team, what does that leave? I think that Microsoft just bought a name and little more.

As for that article posted by Samor, I am actually not that concerned. It's a well known fact that with enough evidence gathering, you can prove anything. Without proper data on how the data in the report was gathered, I am not going to trust it in the slightest. We'll see what Nintendo has to say about that. Even so, I don't consider Europe to be that great of a market. Europe is just a REALLY strange market, and nobody really knows wtf they want, although I guess that could be an absence of Japanese and American video games for so long has kind of deadened their nerve endings. Besides IIRC, many of the GCN games we enjoy here in North America haven't even been released over there yet.

Lord Kane, it's true that Nintendo hasn't really achieved their breakthrough title yet that will capault their sales higher than the PS2's, but you have to admit that the article was wrote with a kind of pre-determined air. And what they said about developer's thoughts was their own OPINION, and not those of the developers.

Ninja, Believe it or not, but the Xbox sales are increasing these days and there are more demands over it. I would have posted an article to prove that for you, but i still didnt find a " 100% un debatable " article. As for now, I think the competetion will still be between GC and PS2. The Xbox , althought its supposed to be the Biggest threat to both of them, is still no made use of. Meaning that MS is not releasing kick ass, Mega hit games on it. The GC had more titles to come this christmas, as for the PS2, I need someone to enlighten me with the upcoming titles ( if there is any)......

Kingstar, console sales in America seem to be relatively untracked except by the manufacturers. If there is sales data anywhere, I can't find it.

As for Europe, I am not aware of anyone who knows what goes on in Europe. (I'm sorry. I'll stop bashing Europe now)

Japan is pretty well documented though, and it shows GameCube outselling Xbox by about 4:1.

Well, there is a point that should be said right now. I think Sales should be comparied on all parts of the world, not just Europe, North America and Japan. Thats just like saying, hey, there are no gamers in Asia, Australia and Africa. When I was in the middle east, there were reports on how the Dreamcast is losing in front of the PS2, while at that time, almost everyone had a dreamcast at home.and even after its death, people were just getting a dreamcast over a PS2. Maybe that doesnt make sense, but thats what happened. I think it would be more fair to compare the sales "generally" all over the world, instead of just concentrating on North America, Japan and Europe.....

Sorry. I forgot about Australia, Asia, and Africa.

I don't think anyone has a clue what happens in Africa. They ship a few consoles over there, and express a little surprise if any money gets sent back.

Asia, well, I think they might be figuring out how many N64's got bought/stolen/looted.

Australia, the Xbox is clearly losing. I think I remember reading somewhere recently that Australian retailers wouldn't sell an Xbox.

hmm,.....As a matter of fact, I think i passed an article that states exaclty how much MS lost on the Xbox. But there are some indications that its sales are begining to increase more than before. the PS2 is still at the top, its very hard to knock it down, but nothing is impossible in real life. GC can do that if Nintendo gets more third pary support. Almost all GC games are by Nintendo. Sega games are Multi-platforms ( well , they need the money, so.... ) If the GC had more RPGs, then I dont think we will ever see that statment again ( I am not refering to anyone by the way) " I bought the PS2 because all my fav RPGs are there...."

Yeah, I can't blame Sega for being "console agnostic". They do need the money very badly. As for 3rd party support on GameCube, I hadn't really noticed it being that deficient except in the case of Konami.

As for the RPGs, they are on the way. I just hope they get here sooner so I don't have to keep stalling.

Ok, I have always thought that being a mod would be miserable as then it wouldn't be so fun to post anymore because you would have to be a positive role model, but I actually want to be a mod whenever I see this thread. That way I could find out who this masked bandit is.

The Gc may have some good games in the horizon, but so did the n64, and look where it is now.... That's one of the reasons I kinda lost my hope on nintendo...

There are some things that money can't buy... ppl's love for example, MS has a big problem... ppl hates them, while it seems like a bad excuse, it's enough to send the most powerful system to hell... look at Sony's PS2... the first year featured some of the most crappy games ever, even so, ppl still supported the system. Why ? Because ppl like Sony and unless they have some major change, they will continue to support it... Just right now I'll dare to say that maybe ppl like the PS2 as much as they once liked Sega or Nintendo... the PS2 became a symbol...

IMO the PS2 has a major advantage in that point... it will take a lot from Nintendo to reach them... MS on the other way... either it will take a miracle or a $100 on each XXXBOX, in order to get into the fight...
